Let’s talk about the customer base.  A local retail business is limited to the population of your town or city.  If you live in a small town, your customer base will be small.  If you live in a large city, you have more competition.

The internet is populated with two billion users.  A small percentage of these users will find you and shop with you.  The internet provides an unequaled opportunity for sales of your products or services. 

Now, start up costs:  The brick and mortar start up can be enormous.  Buying a franchise for instance can cost up to $1,000,000 in cash and mortgages.  Then you have hefty monthly maintenance fees for rent, utilities, inventory, employees.

 The internet based business start up could cost as little as hosting and domain fees or as much as a fabulous vacation.  The merchandise can be stored in your home or drop shipped or in case of an affiliate business model, there is no inventory storage necessary.

The internet based business start up can place you into the vast sea of world wide consumers that can move you into financial freedom quicker than you can imagine.
